Installing Launch Manager 1.1 (First Time Owners Guide)

There are two ways to install and use your software.

The first way is to connect your device to your Desktop or Laptop computer and use the Windows XP or Windows Vista Launch Manager Installer.

The other way is to install on the phone itself using a cab file, if you know what version operating system is running on your device.

I recommend using the Windows XP or Windows Vista installer as it will automatically detect what operating system version is on your device.

Details for the installation methods follow below.


Desktop Installer (.exe)

Requirements

• A Desktop or Laptop computer running Windows XP or Windows Vista.
  
• A Mobile Device (or Mobile Phone) running Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 5 or Windows Mobile 6.
• A sync cable which connects from your Desktop to your Mobile Device (or Phone).
• An internet connection to download the files needed to install.
  Microsoft Activesync for Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Centre for Windows Vista.

Preparation

• If you are using a computer which is running the Windows XP Operating System you require Microsoft Activesync which is available from here:

• If you are using a computer which is running the Windows Vista Operating System you require Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Centre which is available from here:
  http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx
• Install either Activesync on Windows XP or Windows Mobile Device Manager on Windows Vista.
  Connect your phone to the computer using the sync cable provided or available from the manufacturer of your device.

• Download the desktop installer using your desktop or laptop from this link:

• Launch the LaunchManager1_1Setup.exe file.
• Follow the steps on the screen to install your software.

Mobile Device Installer (.cab)

Requirements

• A Mobile Device (or Mobile Phone) running Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 5 or Windows Mobile 6.
• An internet connection to download the files needed to install.
• Possibly A Desktop or Laptop computer running Windows XP or Windows Vista and Microsoft Activesync for Windows XP.

Preparation

Please determine what version of Windows Mobile is running on your device.
Launch Manager works on Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 SE, Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6 devices.
There is a separate version of Launch Manager for Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6.

Instructions

• Download the correct version of the Launch Manager Installer on your Desktop or Laptop computer and copy it to your device.
  OR Download the correct version of the Launch Manager Installer directly to your device.

• Use File Explorer and browse to where you copied or downloaded the installer file on your device to launch:
  (If you don’t know where it downloaded it is most likely in your My Documents folder on your device)
  Launch the correct file:
  Windows Mobile 6: launchmanager1_1.ARM_WM6.cab
  Windows Mobile 5: launchmanager1_1.ARM_WM5.cab
  Windows Mobile 2003: launchmanager1_1.ARM_PPC.cab
  
• Follow the on screen instructions.
